NBC's singing competition "The Voice" welcomed two Christian artists yesterday, one of which was the gospel phenomenon Kirk Franklin.

Why does multiple-award winner Kirk Franklin need to be in a singing competition? The answer is, he doesn't. He was there supporting one of his closest friends and a fellow Christian artist.

Anthony Evans, son of mega-church pastor, Tony Evans, impressed judges Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green with his vocal skills.

Evans, who has released the six major studio albums, Even More, Letting Go, The Bridge, What Christmas Means, Undisguised, and his 2011 release Home, viewed the audition as an adventure.

Stepping outside of his usual whereabouts, the highly sought after worship leader who first stepped on the scene in 2001 as a member of Kirk Frankiln's singing ensemble before becoming a solo artist, graced "The Voice" with Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On."

Franklin, who was seen with his wife Tammy along with Evan's parents supports Evan's newest musical venture as he joined Aguilera's team of singers, passing the blind audition, and advancing in the competition.
